K33 vs regular needle - real world difference?

I've got one. I m glad I bought it, but I will not buy another for my other Micron(s). Switching to E'tac from CI was a more dramatic difference, and works in all of my brushes ;).
So what user gains if he buys k33? Less tip dry? or?

Less tip dry, but not huge amount. The main thing I found was that it’s so hard you never bend them. I’ve had about 5 and dropped them all and can’t afford another one. Gone back to normal needles Due to price :)
What do you mean with word dropped them? Dropped them on the floor? or? Did they went to hell when they kiss the floor?

Before I check your link Jackie, got another weird question. I noticed on picture add for difference between k33 and regular. So if you bend needle can sharpen air fix it back? The reason I am asking this is, cause it looks like sharpen air would destroy that nice ''polish microscope add look'' on that k33.

I polish my own needles using a dremmel, metal polish and finish with jewellers paste. Under a loupe they look smoother than the k33. I can use needles from the procyon that are only 20 bucks and a few pennies worth of polish.

So I am not sure what the advantage of these are.

I guess if you don't want to polish your own they make sense.

I've heard they are harder tho, so maybe that makes them worth it.

Still, I can buy a bunch of needles and polish them up for that price.

100 euros is a lot for a needle. I am just reading that thread which Jackie linked. Diamond polish looks good.

Edit: I take this back. Just noticed post where Vladimir sad diamond paste is a no go

I read that thread Jackie. Good read, learned something new again.

I also noticed K33 needles are like wine. The older they are, more expensive they are. K33 was 83 Euros in 2017. :whistling:

From memory they kissed the floor :)

i do have a k33 but i have so many issues with createx that i went back to standard needles until i can get consistent paint flowing (bad combo of lack of time and a non climate controlled paint space) then i dont expect to see any noticeable difference.
I have bought some cheapo needles to practice my polishing... i have a dremel and felt pads so it will be an interesting experiment

I have a K33 needle and I like it with etac paints that is but there is indeed 1 downside to this needle it is hard and it will break if you drop it I am now using a softer and flexible needle from @Robbyrockett2 but he hasnt been here in ages and I dont know if he still sells these needles but @JackEb will know

I have the K33 needle that came with my CM-SB. And I've used the regular .18mm needle.
The K33 is definitely harder and smoother. But not worth the 100 euros in my opinion.
I switched to the much less expensive .15mm "version 2" Harder and Steenbeck needle . It's a much harder needle with a fine double taper tip.
I've dropped it, bumped it and didn't bend. It's not indestructible, because I have bumped one hard and did bend but so far it last a lot longer than the regular .18 and .15 V1. But the .15mm Version 2 does need to be polished. I use a dremel, polishing pad and paste... well worth the time and cost savings.

Good info.

Is this the one you are using?

How does that transfer to real experience? Does it stick out more, out of the nozzle then regular micron one?

Hi,... yes that's the one I use.
It's very close in taper, but yes it sticks out a tiny bit more but not past the crown cap. It works perfectly in my CM-SB. You might need to tighten the needle packing screw a tiny bit for the .15mm. Also, depending on the handle you have you might need to clip the back end of the .15mm needle to fit

Yes,... I use the soft felt pads, with the demel polish.
I like the wide flat ones, because of the larger surface area on the top.
I clamp the dremel pointing up with the flat felt disc. I put the needle on the top flat side that is moving away from me and carefully rotate the needle with my fingers every time I touch the pad to make sure it polishes evenly.
If you feel you're having trouble with it, contact me and I send you a very quick video.
