Moisture trap question

I see on videos and also I think I read somewhere on forum, moisture trap goes after quick connect on to airbrush.
So like this: hose > quick connect > moisture trap > airbrush

Now here is my question. What is the reason it needs to go after the quick connect. Because, if It would be before quick connect you would need to buy only one moisture trap. But if it's after quick connect you basically need moisture trap for each airbrush. Waste of money...

So, anybody have a clue? I am really interested in the explanation.

I've heard that it is more convenient to hold the airbrush, provides a better grip... Maybe have something to do with the overall weight of the ab and the moisture grip been more centered than otherwise... just a thought...

at 35 euros per filter, I am not sure what would make me more out of balance... Moisture trap before quick connect or 105 Euros for moisture traps...

But dear Jackie with small girly hands , the question is still on the table. Why quick connect last in most cases? I don't remember what was on that jpg of AndreZa which you posted so many times though...

Mine is the same setup as Jackie, quick connect last, Having a moisture trap on each airbrush isn't essential. Plus I wouldn't get the airbrushes in my storage boxes if they all had moisture traps on them. Something to hold onto is the only thing I can think of. If you only use 1 airbrush then its fine but if you use multiple then it could get expensive. I hold the airbrush and not the quick connect or the moisture trap so for me it makes no difference. You always have both attached so no weight difference just thickness under the airbrush.

I use to have the moisture trap on the brush, i found it presented a problem like you describe when my AAD left me with more than two brushes, i then switched to the setup you see above and i actually prefer how it sits for MY hands size.
I bought 12 male connectors for the airbrushes (i didnt have 12 brushes at the time but was future proofing)

So let me recap:
- someone likes to have moisture trap on airbrush, cause it's better for holding to him
- it's easier to clean airbrush without moisture trap on it. You have more room handling that body of airbrush. I assume...

I do wonder how long hose should be to get moisture. If my understanding is correct, lenght of the house brings moisture problems. I never experienced one and I have 3 meters long hose which goes from airbrush regulator to my airbrush. First meter and a half goes straight to the air and then second half comes down to me, where I attach airbrush. I wonder if that plays a role in moisture.
I also doubt I would noticed moisture for few reasons: doing mostly t-shirts, inexperience of mine(I would probably think I left some reducer on needle while cleaning tip dry )

So if a hose is half a meter and you don't get moisture with that lenght, my setup could also be like this:

compressor>regulator>long hose>airbrush regulator>3 meter hose> moisture filter>half meter of that cute hose from link > quick connect > airbrush

This is just example if moisture trap would bother me close to my hands.

I have moister filters on all my airbrushes but only because it gives me a better grip and not for moister as I have never got any moister in those filters I do understand why people put a quick connect between the filter and the airbrush but only if the filter actually catches moister if not it would only be extra weight and not very useful at least not for me that is

I also removed the moisture filter because I have small hands. I like JackEb's set up and will try that. However, is a moisture filter really needed or just a precaution?

In my case it a precaution, i have an airline from the compressor to a regulator then the airbrush hose from there (so i have one big moisture trap as well as the pistol grip one) BUT because im not in a climate comtrolled environment and not using a small ‘airbrush’ compressor i was super cautious. The pistol grip came with the micron and i dont feel it adds significant wieght to worry about.

Condensation is a product of the air being heated as its compressed, its the same reason you end up with moisture in the tank.

I needed one soft spring, so I sad what the hell, lets try this moisture filter as well. Was reading on this forum about it.

I got one from sparmax with bleed valve which I don't use, and I will get one in a box with airbrush. And I have 2 hoses from my compressor. I don't have enough experience on hard surfaces to know if I get moisture out of my airbrush. I think I don't, but who would know. I had splattering while airbrushing on glass, but I blame this my lack of control. I will test what kinda setup I like. Still learning stuff here.

For better grip, I used duck tape...Bunch of duck tape on my eclipse so I was able to get more girth on stem.

I used duck tape in Call of duty, so if duck tape was good enough for my rifle, I assumed it would be good for eclipse as well.

so I have a risk getting moisture in the summer cause it's more hot right. But how does that look. You spraying on project and suddenly water comes out of your airbrush and your project is ruined?

I would assume that water is mixed with color from your airbrush.

Yes basically it will come out with your paint which is not good but not too much hassle unless your doing a super detail part, not so good if your using urethanes as the two don't mix. Never had a project ruined due to it. I have only had it happen once and that was because it was hot, and I had not let my compressor rest (Iwata Smartjet no tank), So really my own fault. I could set up a separate moisture trap/regulator setup inline but no real need.

yes it's on the road right now. I had some issues with my paypal few days ago, cause paypal needed to give me some money and I thought that is a fast process. I have separate card just for online shopping connected to paypal, so if some hacker would get info, he couldn't do anything. So before I go shop online, I need to stop at bank to put money on that card which is linked.

Anyway, I thought money is already on and I tried to buy few stuff from foxy, with spring as well. And it didn't go true. I was like what the hell is happening. So I sad to my self, damn husky are you so dumb you wonted to spend more money then you should have on card where paypal put the money? So I removed one little thing to try my luck

Screw it, it didn't work. So I removed another small thing. I know now will work. Sureeeeeeeeeee...
Out of luck, didn't happen. I sad to myself I will wait few days, cause I was reading online paypal can take 3 days to give you money. So few days later I went to cash machine to check what is going on, money was there, so I ordered what I could get for my money.

Anyway, today I apologized to foxy, cause I made so many tries and I was hoping I didn't do them to much work. Now here comes the tricky part for me....

Got mail from them, they were very nice and they added few freebies. I am so screwed now. Are they gummy bears inside? I am so curious now... I like little things, but this waiting will be painfull
