Getting back into airbrushing after a while

So after a long time not airbrushing I find myself back again this time Im painting 1/700 ships and not N scale trains. Back then I had a T&C aitbrush and a cheapo Iwata compressor, I stepped up my game a little with a Neo for Iwata TRN1 Im also in the process of looking for a compressor Im looking at the Tooty from Spraygunner. Hopefully I be able to add some content and enjoyable replies to the forums.
 
Welcome to the forum Ship, You will soon get back into it. it's just a matter of getting the muscle memory back and you will be up and running again. Just had a look at the Tooty compressor as i'd never heard of it. Ok if its the one with the tank they are ok in general but they do overheat after a while. This can be fixed by using a desk fan blowing on it to keep it cooler. It will certainly do you to start with but you may want to upgrade in the future.

Thanks for the welcome Lee, I was never good at riding bikes lol. It seems like a pretty popular compressor but still a bit noisy maybe and its not expensive. Thanks for the tip of keeping the compressor cool in case it gets hot.
 
They are pretty quiet about 50-60 db certainly quiet enough to talk over plus they wont be running all the time due to the tank.. I never mentioned riding a bike just incase you were crap at riding :)

lol I thought I saw "like riding a bike" in there someplace my bad.
 
Welcome aboard from NY. Lee's right about cooling on the smaller hobby compressors. Lost my first compressor due to over heating and let the smoke out of it. Without fire fortunately.:sus: Spraygunner's a good vendor, too.
Glad to have you and plenty of people to help.

Welcome back to airbrushing and welcome to the forum.
When shopping for a compressor just keep in mind how often you’ll likely have ‘air on’ and the volume of air you will be using. If you’re doing small details on models then the small hobby compressors will likely be fine. But if you are priming/base coating large areas the the compressor will be running a lot more just to keep up. mid you have a workshop compressor you can also use that for airbrushing (if noise isn’t an issue) it’s just a matter of getting the right connectors and making sure you have a regulator (I’ve seen some compressors without a built in compressor)
