Hello all,

I have joined your group for help and advice as a newbie to airbrush art. I live in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Wilkes County, NC. I am married and retired and I have many hobbies one of which has brought me to want to pursue airbrushing and that is building and flying RC airplanes. I build all or most of my planes from Dollar Tree foamboard so I will be using acrylic paints for sure.

Since I am retired, I have to do everything on a budget so admittedly, I have bought a cheap airbrush on ebay to learn with. I think it is one of the budget models from Master Airbrush. I did find a deal on a Master Airbrush compressor though. It is the model TC-96T dual compressor cool running model with a tank. I have also invested in good cleaning kit as well.

I have long ago played with a cheap Badger airbrush so I do have some idea as to what airbrushing is like although I am going to approach this adventure in a more serious note and start at the beginning as if I have never done this before.

So, that is me and that is where I am at in the world of airbrushing. I hope I can meet new friends here and learn a lot from being here. Take care, stay safe and watch out for my crazy questions. ;)

Welcome Graywoulf.
I live in Morganton, NC and we are fairly close to each other. I used to fly models but gave it up a few years back.
Hollar at me if you need any help. Maybe we can meet sometime.

Welcome from Australia,
there's no shame at all in buying a generic brush, especially if you're on a budget. They are also a bit hit and miss with quality but my first brush was a generic one and it taught me a lot about how to tear it down totally and get things back in the right place lol. I was never sure if my failings were due to me / technique / paint / brush so it got tore down a LOT !

If you find yourself deciding to get a better brush then just let us know what your budget is and I'm sure we can find something suitable, not everyone has the $ for high end brushes and often 'detail' brushes aren't needed for things like you are doing.

Fire away with any crazy questions you have, we enjoy guiding newcomers on their journeys.

Welcome Graywoulf, glad to have you as part of our community. Questions are the name of the game round here, so never be concerned about asking them. I hope you enjoy your time here.
