For a first artwork that is outstanding and yes, it’s waaay to easy to go to dark too soon.
Sometimes jumping in feet first is not a bad thing as long as you accept things could go pear shaped lol

yeah i guess even when freehanding you still have to have restraint... anyways im stoked with it and im sure i'll have more concerns along the way, but you sometimes got to mess up to get those juices flowing hahah... but thanks mate

Yeh you've done alright on your first picture. Restraint is an important lesson to learn and master. sometimes less is more.

Doing alright though so keep the momentum going. If you have any questions have a little search first to see if you can find the answer as we have a ton of info here. If you cant find what your looking for then pop up a new thread and someone will help you out.

Awesome cheers for that, yeah i'll be sure to need help hahah , i usually paint in oils with brush on canvas and yeah the old knowing when enough is enough can be the difference between Oh hey thats nice and Oh yeah i saw what you where trying to do lmao

You obviously have artistic ability. Good to see that it's translating well to airbrushing! I have had a go or two at the "true fire" look, but neither ended well.

Looking good!

It's a little hard to see some of the texture because of the shadows the canvas creates, but it looks like you are well on your way with this one!
