New toy - Flake King 500

Ok, I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on buying one of these, I'm a little confused about the adaptors though. I have an Iwata HP-CS. They list an adaptor for ;
  • Iwata BCS Eclipse, HPC
Is this the right one or not?

It ought to work just fine. You’re using the HP-CS as a controlled air source for the flake king. The CS is also an eclipse like the BCS.
Pulling the trigger myself in a few months. ;)

Hmmm, well SM designs seem to be out of stock of all adaptors which makes buying the device itself pretty pointless.

Tried the Earls Customs gun someone directed me too on ebay but the seller is on holiday.

Did find this though; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FLAKE-BU...544031?hash=item4d9aad81df:g:F4wAAOSwhI1a41C5

Whaddaya reckon, o_O:laugh:

Sorry folks I'm still confused, so my HP-CS is an Eclipse?

Why do these airbrushes have so many different names for the same thing?

The name of the range is Eclipse, the letters denote the models and often the size of the paint cup.
All of the Eclipse range of brushes have the same head I believe. So any of the adaptors for that range will work.

5 different ranges.

Number 2 is split. Same range, but Hi-Line have MAC valves, High Performance Plus don’t.
The Eclipse Range is #3
The HP-BS is the same brush as the HP-CS but has a smaller cup.
B size rather than C size.

Don’t ask me why the syphon feed is a BCS.
The point is that the different ranges each have different models within them. Often the paint cup is the big difference.

Ignore the IW-ECL codes. They are the code of the retailer not Iwata.

Thanks

Just placed a an order for the adaptor and Flake King itself. I already have a packet of flake.

Hopefully much sparkliness will ensue shortly.....

I agree sometimes the naming is confusing. but Si has got you the right info. what you have is an eclipse.
why they felt the need to put 'HP' in the model name is beyond me when they have a 'HP' (High Performance) range.

Looking forward to seeing some man glitter projects soon :)

Good stuff! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
