Pshit Log

I started with a very cheap eBay airbrush. It seemed Ok at the time and I was quite pleased with it. Then I bought an HP-CS and it was definitely better but I didn't notice a spectacular difference at the time. Now if I go back to the eBay brush it feels very different.

Not sure what that really means but it's my experience.......

I'm starting a new painting with a black background. I will post pictures soon :)

(Sorry I didn't finished the previous painting...It was a test and the first real painting for me)

Just wondering...is it possible to clean a dirty and dried brush without using ultrasonic cleaner?

Looking forward to seeing your progress on the new painting!

Yes, you can clean without an ultrasonic cleaner. Patience and water. I also use Iwata brush cleaner (liquid) if the paint is icky dried. Did I mention patience? :D

Tried my new compressor. This thing is quiet and works very well. I had some issues with my brush. There was bubbles in the cup and some overspray. I watched on YouTube what might be the problem for the bubbles. They suggest some Beeswax or a Teflon thing. I prefer Teflon. But I don't know what to do with it.

I was using my Black Golden Fluid and it seems to have more viscosity than other colors... I'm trying to find the right psi and medium quantity.
My Cadmium Red works a lot better than my black.

For the bubbles in your cup:
Paint to thick and clogging your tip - reduce paint.
Paint has too much reducer and creating tip dry - add more paint.
Crud in the nozzle tip. Remove nozzle (after emptying the paint) and give a good deep clean. A long bristle hairy brush is really good at getting into the nozzle.
A split or flared nozzle. Replace nozzle
An air leak from the air cap. Use beeswax (chapstick will suffice) use a cocktail stick and put a little on the threads - too much can clog your air channels. This usually fixes 80% of leaks. try it and see if it makes a difference.

*** remember that all threads on an airbrush only need to be finger tight, you don’t need a spammer/wrench to tighten them as much as possible- you will cause damage to delicate threads guaranteed ***

I tried my Createx Wicked colors today. It's less sticky in the cup than Golden.

I still have problems. It sprays it stops than it sprays and I have bubbles in the cup and dry tips every 5 seconds.
