Hole in Badger 100-5lg paintcup?

I am currently at a very odd place in the AB community. There are more and more people doing reviews, or making claims that are so questionable (at best), that I find I am growing more uncomfortable getting involved in conversations (sometimes)...
as long as you don't avoid posting on here !! we're all questionable but not for making reviews of airbrushes lol

I know this thread is a month old but I came across some info that may apply.

I was looking on the Badger website and I clicked on the Sotar 20/20 page as I've thought about maybe adding one to my collection. It shows this shell as an option (P/N 20-138V). If you look at the design of the Sotar, the trigger is much closer to the front than typical airbrushes. I think they put the "hole" in the cup to give your finger a bit more room. It seems like a very poor design as you not only need to be mindful of your material spilling out the top. you have to keep the cut-out in mind also.

Just my hunch, but I think Badger put these on the Patriot just to try to reduce inventory.
