Hello From Spain!

Pepa Saavedra

Young Tutorling
Hi! My name is Pepa Saavedra and I'm a miniature painter from Seville (southern Spain). Something about me:
I have been airbrushing for about 22 years (or maybe 23 ). Initially I start airbrushing as a hobby, but now it’s my full-time job.
My first airbrush was the typical AB-300 and little diaphragm compressor (Sorry, but I don't know if that is how you say it in english, I'm using a translator). I have to say I broke 2 or 3 of these before I got a good one. This was my first "equipment" and I painted a lot of figures before updating/improving it.
Now I got a big and silent homemade compressor.
After this first airbrush....I got a Badger 100G Fine, then, an Evolution 2 in1 from H&S, an Iwata HP-B Plus, an Infinity 2 in 1 (because It's beautiful and I love its aesthetic ). And an iwata Custom Microm was my last purchase at Christmas 2020.
My last purchase to work with, but..... this past year I began to collecting airbrushes.... Yeah, I found out I’m an airbrushes geek :p
In addition to these 6, I also have some "no brand" airbrushes that are gifts from friends: one similar to badger 150 (never used because to paint miniatures having the pot under the ab doesn't work for me), two mistakenly called airbrushes, type badger 250 (also never used), a Grex (never used)....and now some vintage airbrushes that I have been cleaning and servicing.
In total, I got 15 brushes (only). But there are some more I’d like to get, maybe in a future.
That’s how I got to this forum through my searches to find information about spare parts for this old brushes, how they works etc.
I have to say that I still keep all my brushes from first to the last I purchased, and still works perfectly....except one or two of my new-old vintage airbrushes..... but I hope to get them to do it
And that’s all for now.... (I’m sorry if I made mistakes with the language :eek:ops:)
Kisses, Pepa.

Welcome to the forum Pepa. Your translation was good, at least to me. It sounds like you may be an AADmember. You, too, might have Airbrush Acquisition Disorder. I have a little of that myselflol.

Are you still painting miniatures and is that what your full-time job is?

I hope this translates well.

Your translation english/spanish is correct , and yes, I think I have AAD :eek:ops:lol. I still do paint miniatures, now It's my full-time job but it started out as a hobby, for fun. I'm going to upload some picts of my works....when I learn how It's done :D .

Thanks for the warm welcome (of course, his is extended to all of you!!)

Kisses: Pepa.

Welcome Pepa. Glad to have you as part of our community. We’d love to see some of your miniatures if you’d like to share some photos.

I'm going to try something...
Ok, it seems it works!!
This is my last paintwork in a bust of my own miniature brand (called Women By Pepa Saavedra). She is Winter. It's the last bust in the "Four seasons" serie.
I hope you like it!!1.JPG

Very well done Pepa. Is this a piece you cast yourself, then painted? It's extremely nice with all the detail. What size, or scale, is this piece?

Muy bien hecho Pepa. ¿Es una pieza que fundiste tú misma y luego pintaste? Es muy bonito con todos los detalles. ¿Qué tamaño, o escala, tiene esta pieza?

I design the bust and paint the box art. A sculptor makes the sculpture for me and a caster makes the copies for me (of course, I pay them for their work:laugh:) Then, copies are sell to paint. This is my bussines. I also sell the original painted boxarts to collectors and I paint figures and bust to order for customers too. This bust is 1/9 or maybe 1/10 scale

I'm glad you like it :)
Kisses, Pepa.
