Anyone know about HBM compressors?

Hi peeps,
I am thinking of buying a HBM 6 Liter, 2 cylinder Compressor which says it's 53db to 60db noise level. I am presuming thats about the same noise level as my AS186 compressor or am I wrong?

Any used one of their compressors? I'm in the Netherlands so best advice for this area please.
Cheers Melzy

That is just the generic oil less compressors that is now becoming more and more readily available. I have a similar 6L one that is labled "Lab-Air". It's been working great for 9 years already. The noise is a bit more than the 186 but still quiet enough to use indoors.

Hi AndreZA, how often does it kick in? Does it fill up and recharge quickly? I airbrush with almost constant air on so my 186 is running almost constantly too. It's on sale at the moment for €150 is it worth it? I really want a new compressor to use while my super quiet one is not operating but I can't afford to pay much. It has a regular air tool connector so I will have to buy an adapter for my 1/8 air hose, do you know which adapter I should get?

I also paint with air on all the time but I run at 20psi and lower. It comes on quite often and fills up quickly. It does get warm but never hot and never needs a cool down period. You need a step down fitting to take it from 1/4" to 1/8". https://avwairbrushworks.wordpress.com/2012/11/12/which-connectors-to-use/

Thanks alot AndreZA that's a really useful guide to connectors and fittings  well worth a look peeps.

After much research, I think if this compressor is even slightly louder than my AS186 (+- 50 db) then I'm gonna have to pass on it as I find my AS186 already too loud. Old Amsterdam flats with wooden floors and no insulation doesn't accomodate much sound tolerance, hence getting an oil filled whisper quiet compressor in the first place.

I just wish I could get this last connection fixed and have it running already! Then I might buy a bigger inline air tank to add to my existing 3 liter inline tank. Can you put two inline air tanks connected to a 20A compressor with a 1.5 liter tank or would that be too much? I don't mind either way as long as its safe, I'm just getting frustrated.

I would guess you could if I look at those Sparmax options:

So I would assume it can be done.

Hi huskystafford, thanks for your reply. Yes that's what I was looking at the 5 liter Sparmax tank so will do more research to see if it's worth paying €82. I don't think my set up would need an airtank with a cut on/off switch though because my compressor has one at 6 bars off and 4 bars on. Any info would be appreciated.
