mmmm I havent used the skin tone colors for over 5 years and the problem is I have 3 different skin tone colors and I had to pick the darkest one LOL in this case no harm done yet as saw it in time when I did the test spray so I started with the parts that need to become real dark

And if you add a positive circle to the negative you can creat the tight curves in the iris!

I managed to do the under painting and added a base color for the hair so I get a better feel for the final colors

first colors are on and I had to check the ref in photoshop to see if this woman really had some eye shadow on and what color it was
I know the dark shadows are not the right color but I know I can fix that and I am surprised I was able to controle the red color

on second thought fixing this portrait will take up as much time as starting all over again so that is the way I will go

I often do ‘do-overs’ mostly because of the time involved to repair at early stages. And I find I often work it differently because I think of better ways after the first attempt :)

this wip is becoming an experiment and I need to dig deep in my old memories and tricks to get it right and there is still that 50/50 chance it will go south on me but that is what experimenting is all about

the experimenting part has started , I know the sepia has a red hue in it and I have a transparent siena but I never used before 2012 so I dont know what it will do when I use it over the sepia but I guess it would work for the red hair I am after
