My easel won't let me raised the bottom up past a certain point so I made a board out of mass note so I can raise my work up to the hight I want and it took all of 10 mins to make on my table saw.
Here's the steps if someone else would like to make one for themself

Board cut to 20 Inch's wide by 40 1/2 inch's long (or to the size you want yours to be plus 4 1/2 inches in length.

Cut one piece off the bottom 2 1/2 inches wide by 20 inches long.
Then cut another one 2 inches wide by 20 inches long, these will be the ajustin parts.

Now with what's left of the board set blade of saws inside edge to 3 inches from fence and do a plunge cut in the board and cut a slot in the board starting 6 inches up from the bottom and stop the cut 6 inches from the top.
Flipped the board over and do the same thing on the other edge.

Readjust the saw blade so the outside edge is now 3 1/
Out from the fence and make another cut beside the other two so you will now have a cute up both sides of the board 1/4 inches wide.

Glue the two pieces you cut first together so it makes a step to hold your work

Now with the piece you just glued set on your board and mark the center of the slots like so and drill a hole for the screws in each end.

Put it all together and set on easel.

This is great . If you add a base to make it stable this could be a free standing easel for a small space.
