Just make sure it goes in the right way round, this may help, and I’ll move this to ‘trouble shooting’ instead of introductions

use a pair of tweezers to hold it from the top, place it in the slot turned sideways, then turn it to face the right direction, rest it against the back of the slot while you put the trigger in the brush, then the shucking guide, and spring retainer... once you do it successfully, it gets easy.

If yours is married to the chucking guide, tilt the top of the rocker forward and put it in without disturbing the forward position until it contacts the trigger.
You can even slide it against the top of the brush to ensure it stays forward.
