First I want to wish everyone the best for the new year. In 2013 I had no time to take up the gun. On its last day during the holidays I was no longer able to resist it and wanted to see if I was still able to do it properly. My friend Geerco van Strien had just cleaned and tuned my Micron SB and my trusted HP-BH. The latter I used most in making this portrait (for some reason it was more predictable and precise...). I roughly cut a piece of drawing paper and used a stray bottle of (I think) Holbein Aeroflash. Freehand airbrush, no masks, some erasing. The white hairs were made by spraying their surroundings, a tip I got from one of Alberto's students Luca Roccaforte. Ultra low airpressure (just enough to push the paint out) mix ratio paint : water = 1 : 10, no additives. Traced with my light table. Tip: If you visit my blog, you can do the following: If you click on one of the images, Blogspot's lightbox opens, which allows you to use your mouse's scroll wheel to shift through the various stages and observe the progress in a more clear way. Hope to have time to do some more work on it in the new year. If so I'll post progress here.
