    Hi :
I thought I would share this bit of home made kit with you folks. Kind of a way of saying I appreciate all of you on the forum.

This cleaning pot was made from some recycled foam rubber and an empty clean plastic applesauce jar.
The only new part was a rubber grommet used to protect the airbrush when inserting it into the side of the can.
I chose the apple applesauce jar because it was a nice size and had some flat places on the upper shoulder of the jar.

The parts I used was jar and lid. foam rubber sized to fit into the lid of the jar. Small amount of paper towel . And one grommet.

Construction method is as follows. Construction is free form nothing is precise in this project.
    Clean the jar.
I cut a hole in the jar lid about one and a half inches in diameter, but the size is not important.
Cut the foam rubber to fit in the lid to act as a air filter.
Cut a hole in the side of the jar on one of the flat spots big enough to hold a rubber grommet that was large enough for a sharpy marker to fit into. The marker was a sizing gauge. I wanted the option to use a larger diameter airbrush than my Omni 5000 something like a Badger Crescendo
Insert the grommet in the hole . Put some paper toweling n the jar, and screw the lid on the jar.
The pictures will tell the story.
I hope you can use this idea.

    All fixed John :)

These ideas are always useful, not everything has to be bought. I did something similar for years with a shorter jar instead of a bottle... I knocked it off the table once....very messy. The glass ones are heavier so they tend to just move rather than catapult off the table lol

Thank You SiRoxx I have never posted something like this. But as I as yet do not have airbrush skills , As I started to make this I decided to see if I could put it in the forum , and contribute something useful.

Thank You for the kind words. I like your learners journey thread. I don't know if I would have the nerve to do the same.
I have had my airbrush for a wile, But really have tried to use it around ten hours or so. But I am slowly making some head way :)

LOL, I must get back and update it !

    I posted for two reasons
    1) to hopefully show that anyone can improve if they want to . (I’ve no art background at all)
    2) to remind me of where I started and to have documented proof that i’ve Improved and to push myself further

Don’t be worried about starting your own thread, it’s nice to see everyone’s journey

We all started off somewhere John, I was in a garage with old car spray paints, thinners and an old crash helmet. I could draw but had no airbrush experience. No internet existed so it was experiment. LuckilyI have a mate who helped me along when he had time.
