After a bit of a break busy with other stuff I got the airbrush out again over the weekend and gave it a thorough clean. It's working much better now so I had a go at painting some flames on an aluminium drinkng water bottle. Comment and critique welcome :)

Thanks, I'm sure there is plenty of room for improvement, the airbrush seems to be working much better now too after about 3 attempts at thoroughly cleanng it!

That’s always a good start! Lol. With the flames, try starting with the red but paint it almost as if you were painting smoke or clouds. Then the next levels can be sharper using the stencil. That gives a little more natural look. But flames are really tough, I’m still working on getting them right.

Nice vid Alex, You have done pretty good wth thise flames, they are really hard to get right, SiRoxx is pretty spot on about the first layer, almost smoke like just to get some red down. then build up. The more you do the beter and easier it is. Looking forward to the next one.

I like the deepest flames on these ones. The technique does help to build some depth. Nice job.

These look great. Thanks for the video. I’ve been wanting to try some flames, so this helps. Now I just have to go for it!

Good luck Rebecca, its quite hard to do but after practising some you should get them sorted,
