Twood and Ron both have SBS threads going so pop over to the SBS section and check them out,
I did read that someone was concerned how to do the stone texture on the stone block the gargoyle sits on, as they DONT have the texture stencil that was used. No need to go out and buy gear to do this challenge, use what you have at hand.
Check out this video from Airbrush tutor

There are many ways to achieve a similar result.

If anyone else knows of videos that may assist others to do this challenge can you post them here... I’m sure the newbies will appreciate it :)

Give it a go, you may surprise yourself. We’ve a couple of step by steps going and I’m putting one together that involves
    No erasing for shading/textures
No prepurchased stencils, just readily available household supplies
    One one paint colour.

I’m about half way done and I should be able to get it almost done tomorrow. I’m hoping it will show how easily this can be achieved.

I think I will, I was going to give it a start this weekend but Mrs T said painting the bathroom ceiling (with a roller - not airbrush) and installing a new extractor fan came first) so ended up just doing my little spider on Sunday afternoon. Will perhaps get some time in the week to make a start.

I believe that everyone can have a more solid improvement by trying out on their own first and then ask...this is a good opportunity

I might give it a go in a few months as my wife will be getting a total jaw replacement at the end of next month! If I remember right this will be surgery # 40 on her jaws now, and I have a paint pal to send out to its new owner!

That’s a cool piece Man. Lots of great texture and I really dig what you’ve done with the back ground.

    Hey Everybody,
I finally got my attempt at the Gargoyle challenge finished. Well, mostly finished in that it needs a clear coat over top. I wanted to try something a little different for me so decided to go with the firey take on it. Started with an Orange base, built the image as best I could with yellow and shaded with a brown Candy mixed from Orange, Red and a drop of Blue Candy Colours. This definitely took me out of my comfort zone as it was a little smaller and more detailed than I would usually pick to paint.

The final image is brighter and has more contrast in the flesh, but hopefully that’ll show more after a clear coat.
It’s been good to try something that I may have chickened out of LOL, and all in all I’m happy ish.
