    Is this old news?

After taking over Harder & Steenbeck, they now took over Sparmax. Who's next. So they will own all the spraygun manufacturers and just sell them under different names.

As long as the quality is maintained then I suppose its not so bad, but as you know Iwata have used Sparmax for their compressors for years so i'm not surprised.

    Old news? I don't know, but - it does have a date of July 1st, 2018 ;).

I had noticed a short time back when looking at Sparmax's website that it had the Anest Iwata logo at the bottom of the page - it really could not have been much different than the date in that blurb as it was this summer sometime.

I have a feeling this has a lot more to do with medical and Industrial vacuum and compressors than airbrushes.

    HS partner...airtex
Airtex primarily focuses on medical and Industrial vacuum and compressors made in taiwan

    Sparmax same thing

Anest iwata , well go to markets tab on their website....

I don't think the airbrushes will be much affected.

My guess is they are simply buying up their medical industrial competition and then they will trim the fat....get rid of the least profitable lines, keep the few best seller's and streamline the production.

When I've observed this type thing in the past if the brand isn't associated with the industry they let quality go to crap, squeeze the life out of the good names they've bought and then bail.

Iwata is associated with what I think is their target industry here so it's just a matter of tightening the money funnel, so to speak.

By "old news" I meant that maybe someone has mentioned it here before and I missed it.
