Finally found the new member to our family. Almost a year later, since the passing of Trixie, we found a 2.5 year old Rottweiler that needed a home. Her name is Dallas and is smart as a whip. She seems to have quite a fat layer going on and that will change with the proper diet and exercise...She could stand to at least lose 10 pounds.
This is the second day and already she has made herself at home and adopted us as the new pack. She has also accepted our cat. Now Stewie has not really decided yet, but I have caught them laying about 1 foot away from each other sleeping...so that is a good sign....

It seems that we both have found a new best friend...

I thought I'd commented already but I hadn't. Great dogs and a great addition to your family. A couple of friends have had Rotties in the past and they were fantastic. Very loving and gentle dogs despite their guard dog reputation. I love them but I love animals in general. I'd love another cat and the wife would like a dog but I'm not ready for the commitment. Good on you for taking Dallas on and giving her a good lovin home.

We have put her on a rottweiler formulated food and set feeding times and already she is getting the rottie physique. She loves her ball and is getting a good work out every hour of the day...lol...I'm exhausted....lollollol

She really is a love bug...So much love to give and very gentle.
    Cheers

I fully understand why people use a ball to play with their dogs , it is great fun for them and the dog get a good work out but there is one thing I will never understand : why do dog owners let their dogs play with a ball in a off leash forest with other dogs around them dont they understand it is a fight waiting to happen

....because they're irresponsible jerks! One of the main reasons my pups will never see a dog park.

I've met many Rotties, and my daughter had one... big brute of a dog, his bark would send shivers down your spine.
In the house with his family he was happy to be a cuddle bunny to two young toddler kids. My daughter walked in the room when she heard him whimpering to find one of the kids chewing on his ear.... he didn't move or react other than the whimper lol
I'd much rather a medium/ large breed than a small one.
