Another portrait study, this looked challenging and it was.......
April picture of the month has no entries ...
throw up a quick sbs thread and throw it in there
This piece was a combination of nearly everything I know, lots of freehand (then tidied up with erasers) skin and hair, interesting tones to make. Veridian, burnt umber, red violet and blue violet pretty much dominate this piece, the smoke was colour matched then straight white to add dimension ( the blue shift was used intentionally and also in the Grey/blue highlights on the face)
Some use of the Blair skin texture three stencil to create a quick background texture to build on.
I haven’t actually finished this and probably won’t now! New commission on the go a good 30 hr project too
I've been craving for something like this. I love the ambiguity of this piece, and how mystic it looks. All hail the new king of airbrushing!
If only everything in my life was so easy
Awesome work , I was leaning more toward something out of an old Vincent Price movie
I now have a bride and two bridesmaids to paint
The flowers will be interesting!
