Refinishing the chrome finish on an airbrush

OK, so I’ve got a Badger 150 wood boxed set. This thing has been a workhorse of mine since the eight grade for doing models. It’s still in excellent condition - always cleaned and maintained after use - but the chrome finish has several dull spots on it. I’m wondering if this can be polished back up to a showroom finish or can the airbrush body be refinished as a shop that does chrome plating? Maybe DaveG has some ideas.

I use buffing compound(s) and cotton wheels to bring chrome back up. The Chrome on Badger brushes seems to damage or discolor with time, and/or contact with some materials more readily than some other brands. Go easy, as you are not trying to remove the Chrome! I find the Flitz brand metal polish also works quite well, as long as the damage is not into more than just the surface of the Chrome.

I am sure they can be replated, but it can be more expensive than you think. It would need to first be completely stripped back to bare brass...
