I'm going to try and set up my CNC machine this weekend and cut a stencil.
I have all my materials and cutting blade but I would like to cut a shield on the cnc machine.

has anyone got a stl file I could have to convert to gcode ??

Don't even worry about an stl for one.
    Draw your shape, scan it.
    Download a program called f-engrave

It will trace basic bmp files to produce gcode for straight cuts, v carves, b carves

Sometimes you have to trick it with settings and manual math to do more complex tasks but
It's free, super simple, supports multiple passes, tool shapes, etc.
I use it almost exclusively for 2d cutting.

I cut my own from 190 micron mylar sheet. That way I can do any size version of the shield. I have ordered and received some 250 micron mylar which I will attempt to cut but it may be too thick, we shall see. I will put a new 60 deg blade in thee cutter and up the pressure to its maximum. I will report back once I get enough time to set everything up.

Noone has them in stl bc it's a 3d file format and it's unnecessary.

If you really have to have them in stl you can use inkscape or probably illustrator to save them as svg then use most cad programs to add a little height info.
Tinkercad will do then they can be saved as stl

I imagine your cad program your using to generate gcode will also take a dxf

F-engrave and inkscape and I'm sure a lot of other drawing programs will export to dxf.
