This little picture serves primarily as a test for me. I wanted to try the technique of underpainting. But this time, do the coloration with the primary colors. I used Schmincke neutral gray for the underpainting. For the coloration I used Schmincke cyan, magenta and yellow. It was difficult for me because I prefer to use black. But I'll get the grisaille set by Steve Gibson and try to work with different shades of gray. It is very interesting to see how the colors are created on paper. Size is 5 "x7"
Michael, your works are always cool! It's fun to see the bottle top's tin to judge on the work's size It speaks for your high level. For the first try of new technique, the colours look fine.
Fantastic work as always Micha. Dare I ask if this piece is roughly 5x7 (sneaky) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thank you guys! Airbrush is so incredibly versatile and every technique has its own special requirements. I guess this is so nice because you can capture the mood of the old masters.
It looks great. Hats off for going CMYK. Although I'm in the printing industry, I don't know how you would paint that way.
Awesome piece and I have tried the gray under painting before with color on top but mine came nowhere near looking as good as this one.
I followed Steve Gibson's method a bit. But I only sprayed with a shade of gray. Stev's method I think has nine shades of gray.
