Started this canvas panel last year with gesso, many layers sanded smooth then auto air sealer black. Sealer white layered until enough coverage, sanded smooth, another layer sealer white. So finally figure out what I'm gonna do. This is detail wicked Payne's grey 1:1:1, reducer and illustration base. First picture IMAG0280-480x849.jpg

Why back and forth with the white and black sealers?

The white sealer to map out skull instead of white paint so it holds up to scratch and erase. Not back and forth, black then white sealer. Then paint.

    Great start
I like the idea of using the Autobourne. I'll have to try it sometime.

So far it's tough, I wore through a bit on a tooth, must have been thin there. It's working well enough to gently erase, even with the electric. This panel is black gesso, black sealer. Sanded then final layer of sealer scuffed with 3m grey pad. It's really smooth after that.
