life has been throwing me many curve ball since I started working on replacing a 40 year old bathroom and all work on it came to a halt once I had the shower , toilet and sinks in and that was last years :(
there is not much work left to do but it is the most difficult part as there is not much room left to work in and I need to fix a tiling mistake I made and I am sure those last 3 to 5 tiles will fight me all the way as these tiles my wife picked are heavy and wont stick to the wall with out a form of support and the wall is not a solid wall and I cant drill in it or hammer a nails in as the builders back in the 80ties have cut every corner they could cut to build as cheap as possible

Good luck! I will keep a good thought that you are able to accomplish all that needs doing, with a minimum of fuss.

it took me 3 days of trail and error but the first and "easy" job of fitting 3 heavy tiles that have no base to hold them up is finished :D a small 2 mm drill bit for stone and 6 2 mm thick nails as a temp support did the trick

what can I say about the cowboys who build the house back in the 80ties ?
I test fitted the bath today to see how I could fill the left over 10 cm just to find out the corners in the bath room are not square and there will be a gape between the bath and the wall if I cant come up with a solution and I am not planning to start all over again by squaring of the corners :p

Both houses I've owned and worked on didn't have a square corner in them I'd guess cause anytime I'd square something up in any of them there's gaps somewhere lol

the first house I ever owned and worked on was build in 1903 and it had issues but the corners were square the second house was build in 1997 we were the first owners and it also had all square corners but the house we now own was build in 1983 and it is is not square and I guess it was due to the fact houses had to be build fast and cheap in those days

The house we currently live in was built in the late 1800's and some redone in 1990 like some electrical and such..beautiful house but things have settled and there just isn't flush 90° corners lol...lots of real wood trim everywhere though

in a house build in the late 1800's I would not expect a square corner or a straight wall but loads of character :)

that bathroom is still fighting me ever step of the way and before I knew it 6 weeks past and I am still not finished but then again I am working on a shoe string budget and use what I have lying around like old wood and water resistant plywood to safe as money as I can and I have finally figured out the best way to install the bath and water tap and managed to get it done in only 1 day :) and unless the bath room can find 1 more curve ball to trow at me it should take me a few days to do the last bit of tiling around the bath and do the finishing touches.
I have a nice ref calling out to me begging to paint it so I best get a move on

Glad to hear you’ve nearly conquered the bathroom Ron. You’ll be back painting before you know it.
