what you have done is exactly what we suggest to a lot of newbies... get a 'colouring in' page and colour it in !!
it really does help train your brain as to where the paint is going to land, how much paint will come out when you pull back and how to do blends/fades etc
Doing alright there, like Jackie said. Keep doing this and experiment with the fades, some dagger strokes and you will see your airbrushing improve quite quickly.
Seriously I never had an airbrush in my hand before.
Only bought one for xmas but than had a problem with compressor had to return it because it was faulty. So first time I used it was like week after new year!
