I'm a newbie to this art form having been mesmerized by the art on trucks and vans in the late 70's as a kid. I have just bought a HP-C 50th Ann. with a Studio Series Smart Jet Pro Compressor for $350 plus paints etc... (is this a good buy?).
I'm interested in airbrushing motorcycle tanks and panels (ghost style with candy's) cars and themed wall murals. I come from a tattoo background so venturing into the world of realism is something i am looking forward too...
Yeh your kit is good. Having a tattoo background will help as you will have colour theory and a steady hand but you still have a bit of a learning curve with the airbrush. Don't worry though that's why we're here. Anything you need help with just have a search and if you can't find the answer just post it up. We have vast experience and knowledge here between us all.
Welcome from Adelaide Brando, we’re a mixed bag of lunatics so don’t be deterred by some randomness in the threads, we generally manage to give people the help they need reasonably quickly provided we have all the info, if not we’ll just dig deeper.

Welcome from the U.K. Brando. Sounds like you’ve got some excellent kit and your interest is very similar to mine. I think the first time I was aware of airbrushing was a Terminator Themed van that I saw at a car show.
