Awesome! Nice move too Dave. I’m looking forward to seeing what you think of the brush.Yep. I also chose to purchase from a small business (Tag Team Hobbies - Thomas is a great guy), rather than purchasing from a big store to spread the support around. Mine is in the post, and is scheduled to be delivered by tomorrow.
Man, I want one of those cups for my CM-SBS. It looks like exactly what I've been looking for (a small capacity high-mounted side cup). Is anyone selling parts for these yet? Coast has the brush in their catalog, but their parts pages haven't been updated with the Takomi parts.
Is it possible you could post a pic looking down into the cup? I'm curious as to the internal shape. Is the bottom conical like with the old SF cups, bowled like a gravity feed cup, or flat like an Aztek cup?
Are the new trigger related guts cross-compatible with a vanilla Eclipse body? I.e. could one upgrade an HP-CS to use this trigger using off the shelf Takomi parts?
I want soooooooo bad to trade up my CM-SBS to the new version, as the shorter front end distance is a really big deal for me. Unfortunately I'm not sure I could afford it. And this new version will probably effect the resale price of previous SBS Microns.
Thanks for letting us know Dave. It just looks wrong with that cup. It's just not how I know Iwata. The micro cup is a nice idea. I've got one of those rings for my H&S guns. Don't you think the tube of the cup is a bit long? It looks like they could about a 3rd of it.
The cup "base" is quite shallow, with basically a cone shape below the threaded portion. Ignore the O-ring and arrow - I was simply explaining how I prefer to seal this sort of cup. The standard seal is at the root of the threads on the color cup top. Parts across the Takumi and other Eclipse models will remain the same, with the exception of the needle, which is shorter in length by necessity, but keeps the same taper up front.

Thanks Dave G for taking the time to write the review. I picked up the Takumi trigger from Merri Artist 2 weeks ago. I will pick up the base cup and use my Neo small color cup just as you did. Does the H/S small lid fit the Neo small color cup? I'm too clumsy and always like to use a lid.
How well does that H&S micro cup fit the Iwata cup base? I was looking over the cup options, and if H&S cups will work as well as Iwata, then that adds some other size options to the mix. I was thinking about the 2 ml H&S cup for use with my Micron.
