Hi guys and girls!
So I just bought thsi U-Pol 2k clear coat to coat push buttons for an arcade . and I was wanted to know if this stuff is tough ? I mean like .... HARD TOUGH ?
Because obviously it's going to take a bashing and scratching.
If anyone has used it and can confirm that would be great
Thank you :)

I’m of no help,
but while you wait our Dragon has some pointers on what we commonly like to know about our new members:)

If it's a 2 pack polyurethane it should be pretty tough. Check the full curing times given by the manufacturer and don't bring into service too soon. The other thing to watch out... this stuff likely contains isocyanates... This stuff is nasty and if you are going to spray it there is specific protection needed for both you and anyone around you, air supplied respirators is preferred. Don't spray this stuff near any living areas and make sure the spray is contained and dealt with appropriately, not just left to float on downwind to your neighbors! We recommend an appropriate spray booth to spray this stuff.

From what mark is saying you’d be better off taking the piece to a professional spray painter, they’ll often include little pieces when they’re doing other pieces

This is great advice tnakyou :) . So , an update is i've layed down a couple of layer and taken triple caution with how I do it and where . I'll keep you all updated on how it goes , incase anyone else asks the same question .

Fairly, just as most 2k clear is. It will take about two weeks to get real tough though.
Ive not used it but this is an application id probably try kbs diamond clear. From what ive heard its resistance to abrasion being so high is actually one of the things keeping it from being taken serious as an automotive paint.

I did see this but the trouble is it's not avalible in the UK and I've read somewhere that they had trouble trying to get it through customs .... Plus, £69 !

A little update with U-Pol clear coat. I've done 2 layers and it's worked a treat . They real rock hard . I'm sure if I really went for it I could dig deep and scratch but casual mashing it's holding up a lot better .
